City of Piqua to see in 2021 with fireworks display

The City of Piqua has decided to show 2020 the door in style, while bringing in the long-awaited 2021 with a one-time-only firework show.

This year might have started off with the usual enthusiasm and high hopes, but as the year grew older, it became increasingly unpopular. The desire to see it gone and a new one taking its place is virtually universal. Piqua has decided the best way to say goodbye to 2020 is with the New Year’s Eve Firework Show, starting at midnight on December 31.

Special events provide marketing opportunities for businesses as well as non-profits. Name recognition is gained by sponsors who may also use the opportunity to give away Promotional Products such as Pens or keychains with their name and contact information.

The upcoming end of the year fireworks display is being sponsored by Jackson Tube Services, Inc.

Due to COVID-19, the city does not wish to attract a crowd. The pyrotechnics will be launched from an undisclosed location in the northeast part of Piqua, but not the same location as the city used for its July 4 fireworks. The location that has been selected is one that will enable most Piqua households to view the fireworks from home. Additionally, the City of Piqua-Government page on Facebook will carry a live video of the display.
