Chenelle Leadership slot offered to Edison State employee

In Piqua, Edison State Community College’s Professional and Technical Pathways Advising coordinator Carin Benning has been chosen to take part in the 2023-24 Chenelle Leadership Program.

The offer came via OASFAA (Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators) and is an intensive leadership program lasting one year. It offers development opportunities for higher education professionals concentrating on those that work in or in conjunction with financial aid. The program concludes with a week-long conference where a diverse assortment of industry leaders will be on hand to offer insight and guidance for participants to help them navigate leadership options.

Flyer and poster printing works particularly well for reaching a specific group of unidentified individuals with a message.

Benning was hired as an adjunct faculty member in 2011 and has also spent time as the accessibility specialist. In addition to her present position as a Nursing and Veterinary Technology career pathway advisor and Professional and Technical Pathways Advising coordinator, she also holds the lead position on the Reducing Barriers Grant Team, which brings financial aid and career advising together to rein in student debt.

The OASFAA’s goal is to promote financial aid awareness and enable greater access to higher education. This is accomplished by positively impacting public policy initiatives, promoting the fair administration of programs providing student aid, and fostering a cooperative environment among educational institutions, organizations, agencies, and individuals for the benefit of students.
