A tradition among Piqua residents is attending the annual Strawberry Festival held each year in nearby Troy.
Held during the peak strawberry harvest season since 1977, the Strawberry Festival gives area businesses including those from Piqua an opportunity to introduce themselves to residence beyond their normal area of influence. As per usual this year’s festival will take place the first weekend of June.
On June 1-2, 2024, there will be more than 200 booths featuring arts and crafts, food options (mostly strawberry-focused), lots of fun activities geared for children, and three stages of live entertainment. Events at the festival will include Strawberry Pageants, a 10K Classic Run and a variety of other competitions.
Having a presence at local festivals is a priority for many businesses, which seize the opportunity to hand out Brochures, Promotional Products and Business Cards.
The festival stages will host demonstrations of Kung Fu, Irish dancing, Pilates, cardio drumming, and Zumba, plus a number of live performers. A concert is scheduled for 6:30 pm on Saturday night on the Prouty stage.
The family-friendly Strawberry Festival, which has in the past attracted more than 200,000 per year, will take place on the Downtown streets of Troy and the Great Miami River Levee. The event is free with free parking available along with a free shuttle service and takes place from 10 am-9 pm June 1 and 10 am-6 pm June 2.
