2021 Piqua graduates offered free tuition by Edison State

Edison State Community College has stated that tuition will be waived for 2021 high school graduates who qualify, regardless of whether they will be attending classes in person or online.

Edison’s offer will extend through their associate degree or the completion of a certificate and will apply to those attending the school’s Eaton, Greenville and Troy campuses in addition to its Piqua campus.

College applications, both state and nationwide, have shown a downward trend this spring, along with financial aid applications. However, Edison State in 2020 was listed by the Ohio Department of Higher Education as having posted an increase in students for its third straight year.

A college’s reputation for academic excellence and how well it prepares its students for the next step in their education or career drives the number of applications it receives, while its school Logo Design communicates its brand message.

Over 40 academic programs at Edison State offer associate degree, plus it has dozens of career certificates. Tuition waivers are available to high school seniors in Miami, Darke, Preble and Shelby counties as well as high schools sharing a College Credit Plus partnership with the college and homeschool children in the area.

Students must apply for FAFSA financial aid and accept any scholarships and grants they are awarded. Textbooks, lab and material fees and online and web-flex course fees will be the responsibility of the student.
