Parma Metal Center receives $250M investment

In a bid to further reinforce its plans to boost domestic production capacity, and bolster its supply chain’s resilience, GM invested $5.5 billion in 2025 of which $250 million has been earmarked for the Parma Metal Center.

The $250 million will be used specifically to increase the manufacturing of sheet-metal stampings and assemblies used by Spring Hill Manufacturing in Tennessee, Orion Assembly in Michigan and Fairfax Assembly located in Kansas. By strengthening Parma Metal Center’s stamping and assembly capabilities, GM is better able to meet the needs of its ICE and EV product lines and keep up with customer demands.

Manufacturers have numerous uses for printing services including items like employee handbooks and worker education materials.

According to GM, its commitment to meet those demands involves more than completing facility equipment upgrades. GM is also investing in workforce development that includes, training, apprenticeship programs, and STEM/STEAM education initiatives to ensure employees are prepared for advanced manufacturing roles. Moreover, these efforts not only prepare team members for today’s technologies but also provide a base for keeping up with the evolving technological innovations needed to meet changing production demands.

Parma Metal Center has been in business for over 75 years and now processes over 400 tons of steel per day for the more than 100 million parts the company manufactures annually. The Parma company provides parts for most North America built GM vehicles.
