Many West Columbus residents will help welcome in the winter season by attending Winterfest Columbus coming in early December.
Put on by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, the free four-hour event will feature seasonal craft beers, live music, and food.
The music lineup will include the George Barrie Band beginning at 11:00 am and DJ Axcess at 12:15 pm. Afternoon performers will be Honey and Blue at 1:00 pm, DJ Axcess at 2:15 pm and RJD2 at 2:45 pm. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Some of the 15 vendors will include Fork in Nigeria, Jackie O’s, Ninja Bowl, The Galaxy Coffee, Pizza Cottage, and Tortilla Street Food. Although the festival beverages are cashless, each individual food vendor will determine Forms of payment. Often, local businesses buy space on vendors’ paper products – such as their napkins, Bags, and straws – to feature their Logo Design.
Transportation for the Scioto Mile and Downtown Columbus will be provided by COTA buses, and parking will be available in downtown garages, at COSI, and the National Veterans Memorial and Museum. Individuals may also ride their bikes, or can rent either e-bikes or traditional bikes through CoGo bike share, then use the bikeways and trails leading to the Scioto Mile.
Winterfest Columbus will be from 1:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 2 in downtown Columbus on Scioto Peninsula at Dorrian Green, 50 S. Belle Street.
