Still time to get into shape for the annual October race

The Grandview Heights Parks & Recreation Department will be holding its 38th Annual Great Pumpkin Run later next month.

This will be a 5K for the adults and a Kids Tiny Tot Race for the little ones. Halloween costumes will be welcome, although participants are reminded to dress warmly.

The first 500 entries will get T-Shirts. This will be an open race and awards will be given to the three top finishers in individual age groups.

Registration will be in the Grandview Middle School gym and members of the community will be on hand to direct runners around the registration area and on the course.

The course will be well marked and the race finish line will have a digital clock, chute, and finish banner. This would be a good time for friends and families to get some banner printing done to have their own items to display along the route, showing support for their favorite racers.

Registration for the race will be from 7:30 until 8:30 am, and it will begin at 9:00 am on October 22 at Grandview Heights Middle School, 1240 Oakland Avenue here in Grandview Heights. Registration for the Tiny Tot Race will begin at 7:30 am in the Middle School Gym, and that race will begin at 8:15 am.
