Race hops into town

To welcome spring, locals can run, jump, or hop their way across the finish line at the upcoming ‘Bunny Hop 5K’.

The scenic race will begin at Scioto Audubon Metro Park, about five miles away from Grandview Heights. The route will also go along Scioto River. No doubt a banner printing service was asked to make Signs to direct people to the start and finish of the race.

Limited to the first 450 people, registration costs $40 and $45 on race day. Those who join a team will save $5. Registration includes a T-shirt, bunny ears, and a bib with chip timing. Those who want to be guaranteed a shirt need to register before March 28. Participants can also take part in collecting candy-filled eggs.

Registrants will also be given a wristband for the post-race ‘hoppy hour’ party, where they can receive a free beer or soda. To get beer, attendees must have identification to prove they are at least 21.

The Buckeye Ranch, which offers mental health services for locals, is the race’s charity partner. Individuals are encouraged to make a donation to the organization.

Registration and packet pickup is located on 400 West Whittier Street. The after party is located at World of Beer on 503 South Front Street. The event will take place rain or shine.
