Many Grandview Heights enthusiasts will be heading for the inaugural Columbus Potato Fun Fest coming in early February.
The two-hour event will feature potato food vendors, a Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head Challenge, and other contests themed around the versatile vegetable, such as potato decorating, carving, and catching. Non-potato food items can also be purchased and there will be shopping opportunities and crafts.
Local businesses will have representatives passing out Promotional Products, Business Cards, and samples of their goods and services. Large candy bars will go to the first 150 attendees and event Bags will go to everyone.
Although entry will be free, all attendees must preregister. Those participating in the contests must arrive by 11:45 am. They will receive free candy canes, hot chocolate, and VIP Entry Bags. VIP recipients must arrive by 11:20 am, and they too will receive hot chocolate, candy canes, and swag Bags. General admission will be at noon, 12:30, 1:00, and 1:30 pm.
The event organizers will no doubt get poster printing arranged to announce the $600 Diamond, $400 Main Stage, and $225 Entrance sponsors. Flyer distribution by sponsors is available at the $50 level.
The event will take place Saturday, February 6 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm in the Edwards & Gaynard buildings at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, 4100 Columbia Street, Hilliard #B.
