Parks and Recreation sponsors Pumpkin Run/Walk 5K

Grandview Heights Parks & Recreation is sponsoring its 43rd Annual Great Pumpkin Run/Walk 5K & Tiny Tot Pumpkin Trot coming toward the end of October.

Proceeds will go toward Grandview Heights community educational and recreational services and programs.

The 5K course will be on a closed road running through Grandview Heights neighborhoods. Donuts and apple cider will be available at the finish line. Registration is $25 and the first 500 entrants will receive T-Shirts featuring this year’s Great Pumpkin Run 5K graphic design. Water will be available at a station at the course’s halfway point and at the finish line.

A Tiny Tot Pumpkin Trot for kids under the age of seven will be free, beginning 30 minutes before the adult race, and the first 100 participants will receive T-Shirts and goody Bags. Advance registration is required.

Event day registration and check-in will begin at 7:45 am. The Tiny Tot Pumpkin Trot will begin at 8:30 am, followed by the Great Pumpkin Run 5K at 9:00 am. The 5K will end at 10:15 am, at which time the course will reopen to vehicles. The event will occur rain or shine. Commemorative awards will be given to the top three female and male finishers.

The event will take place on the morning of Saturday, October 22 at Larsen Middle School, 1240 Oakland Avenue. Parking will be available at the school.
