Locals in Columbus, and nearby Grandview Heights, can take part in a race for a good cause.
The Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Ohio is hosting the 2015 Strides for Hope 5K walk and run. The event organizers hope to raise awareness for ovarian cancer and also celebrate its survivors.
The 5K will begin and end at the Center of Science and Industry. The course will go in a loop that travels near the Scioto River.
Pre-race registration costs $30 for those aged 13 and over, although this price ends at noon this Friday, September 11. Race day registration is $35. Registration for kids aged 12 and under is $15 and for ovarian cancer survivors, the price is $20. Donations will also be accepted.
Pre-race packet pickup will take place on September 12 from noon until 5:00 pm at Road Runner Sports, located on 535 Lakeview Plaza Boulevard in Worthington.
The event has a wide variety of sponsors. Often, printing companies include sponsors’ names and logos on promotional materials, such as Banners and Posters.
The race kicks off on September 13 at 9:30 am. Race day registration begins at 7:30 am. Cancer survivors can be part of a group photo at 8:30 am.
