Grandview Heights runners, especially Columbus Blue Jackets fans, will be heading to Ohio Health’s 2023 5th Line 5k race coming in early February.
The 3.1-mile course will begin outside the Nationwide Arena, go through downtown Columbus, and finish inside Nationwide Arena on Center Ice.
Registration will be $60 until this Sunday, January 8, but will go up to $70 from January 9 to February 4, and to $80 on race day if there are any tickets left. The race will be limited to 4,000 runners. Registration for virtual participation will be $65 through race day. Some safe places to run the virtual 5th Line 5k include Westerville Community Center, Sharon Woods Metro Park, Highbanks Metro Park, and Antrim Park.
Swag will include unisex technical race shirts featuring the event’s Logo Design, event’s official finisher’s medals, and two vouchers for two Columbus Blue Jackets games that may be redeemed for games from the rest of January up to April 2.
At the finish line, racers will be able to use steps to get from the ice level to the Post-Race Party on the concourse level. This will feature a DJ, games, prizes, and samplings of Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic craft beer and Mike’s Hard Lemonade.
Packet pickup will be at the Fleet Feet Sport Lewis Center, 1270 E. Powell Road, Lewis Center, during regular business hours from Thursday, February 2 through Saturday, February 4. The 5k will then take place on Sunday, February 5 beginning at 10:00 am.
