Locals to enjoy jazz and ribs

Grandview Heights locals can head to downtown Columbus along the Ohio Riverfront for music and food.

The Jazz and Rib Fest will feature jazz artists from the local area and all over the world. Performers will play on three different stages.

Attendees can sample all kinds of barbecued fare including ribs and chicken. More than 20 rib teams will make their best recipes and compete for different titles, including the Best Sauce Award and The Critics’ Choice award.

If they get hot, attendees can relax under the ABC 6/Fox 28 Pavillion and be treated to a hand fan. The ‘Big Bite Tour’ will be passing out food samples, playing music, and providing fun activities for guests. In addition, the 2015 Great American Cookout booth will be giving grilling tips and handing out samples.

The Columbus Blue Jackets will have a bounce house and other kids’ entertainment. Several other eateries, businesses, and sports organizations will have booths set up.

Raffle tickets are available for $1 each or $5 for six. Prizes include gift baskets and sporting event tickets. A Stationery printing service was probably contacted to create raffle tickets.

It all takes place on July 17 and July 18, from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm, and July 19 from 11:00 am until 8:30 pm. The event will be held in The Arena District.
