CycleNuts’ New Year’s Resolution Tour 2021 will be one way for Grandview Heights bicycle enthusiasts to begin the new year with a bike ride on New Year’s Day.
More of a social gathering than a race, CycleNuts’ New Year’s Resolution Tour 2021 will be a slow (under 11mph) 13-mile bicycle ride loop around central Columbus. Halfway through the ride, participants will pause for a cold beverage and hot meal. Once they arrive back at the starting point, riders will get more beverages and the chance to play arcade games.
The ride will be leisurely, and riders can expect trail-side breaks, pacing to the slowest riders, and stops along the way to look at interesting sites and take pictures.
Riders taking pictures along the route often take the photos to local Print shops for duplicates that can be included in New Year newsletters.
Participants can choose one of three participating options. Riders can show up with their bikes at 1:00 pm and ride the route. Others may opt to show up around 2:00 pm to join the riders for socializing, eating, and drinking at the midway stop. Still others can join the fun around 3:00 pm back at the start to socialize, drink beverages, and play the arcade games.
Organizers advise to dress warm and expect snow. If the weather becomes too inclement, the event organizers will scrap the ride and guests can just hang out playing the arcade games.
CycleNuts’ New Year’s Resolution Tour 2021 will take place Friday, January 1, 2021 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm EST. The location will be revealed when participants join and RSVP.
