Over 35,000 attendees are expected to visit the Columbus Italian Festival coming in early October.
A pre-festival will be All about Abruzzo, an Italian dinner served at the Berwick, 3250 Refugee Road, Columbus, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Monday, October 7. Tickets will be $50. Admission to the festival will be $10 for adults and free to children 12 and under.
Activities will include the Cugini Law Bocce Tournament on Friday, October 11 from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm and Saturday, October 12 from 11:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Winners will receive $1,500 for first place, $750 for second, and $500 for third.
Three stages will offer continuous entertainment, with Lisa Dellarosa headlining the first night, The Rick Brunetto Big Band on the second, and The Sicilian Tenors with the Rick Brunetto Big Band on the closing night.
Italian Cultural events in the demonstration tent will include food demonstrations such as homemade ricotta cheese, gnocchi, Italian cassata cake, homemade pasta, and basic bruschetta. Closing the Friday and Saturday nights, there will be Italian line dancing and drinking songs.
On Sunday, October 13 beginning at 1:00 pm, the festival will have its 2024 Italian Festival Parade and High School Marching Band Competition, attracting participants from West Columbus and beyond. The winning band will receive a $500 sponsorship package featuring the band's Logo Design.
