Grandview Heights is gearing up for this year’s holiday season with events beginning right after Thanksgiving.
Every Thursday after Thanksgiving beginning on December 2, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, families can convene at The View for holiday song fests presented by Grandview C-4 Elementary schools children. Afterwards, everyone will go outdoors for the Mayor’s Christmas tree lighting. Attendees are asked to bring cash, toiletries, or canned food for the Grandview Assistance Program.
Attendees at Grandview Heights Tree Lighting can enjoy the free iceless rink from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, ice sculpture demonstrations from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and live reindeer. Music will be provided by the Grandview Heights High School Band starting at 5:30 pm, and the Grandview Heights High School Choir at 6:00 pm.
Santa will be available from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Kids can also write letters to him and drop them in the Santa Mailbox, and the jolly soul himself will write back. Letters can also be placed in the North Pole mailboxes located at The View and City Hall from November 29 until December 10.
Grandview Public Library will send Bubbles the Elf with holiday-themed activities. The actual tree lighting ceremony will take place around 7:15 pm on Tuesday, December 7. The event will take place on Grandview Avenue between 1st and 3rd Avenues.
Cities like Grandview Heights often have pictures taken during events such as this. Many have the photos included in their yearly visitor guide brochure printing.
