Grandview Heights warms up for February golf event

Wind, sleet, or snow will not deter local golfers from playing golf in February at the 22nd Annual Polar Bear Golf Open.

Sponsored by Dublin Am Rotary Club, this will be a benefit golf outing at central Ohio’s “Best Public Golf Course” (according to Columbus CEO Magazine) for local children’s and families’ charities such as the Central Ohio Region Make a Wish.

The $60 registration fee will include a nine-hole round of golf, cart, a light breakfast, and a more substantial lunch. All players will get chances to win prizes such as Taylor Made Irons and will receive long sleeve T-Shirts touting the Polar Bear Golf Open graphic design.

The 9:00 am shotgun start will begin the nine-hole scramble. This will come after the 8:00 am check-in. Since both the front and the back nine holes of the course will be used, play will proceed quickly.

Grandview Heights golfers who belong to charitable organizations such as the Kiwanis, the Red Cross and the United Way may wish to do a little flyer printing to promote this event and put up Flyers at their meeting places.

The Polar Bear Golf Open will take place at the Safari Golf Club beside the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, 4850 Powell Road in Powell on Saturday, February 9 from 8:00 am until noon.
