Grandview Heights runners, walkers, and fitness enthusiasts can participate in three Columbus running events during the next couple of months.
The OHFA & OCCH Race for a Place (to Call Home) 5K will be a virtual run for this, its third year. Proceeds will go to Ohio organizations dealing with homelessness, housing insecurity, and emergency services.
Swag will include custom performance racing T-Shirts sporting this year’s graphic design and swag Bags containing Promotional Products and services donated by local race-themed businesses. Registration for those over 18 years old will be $40, for ages 7 through 18 will be $15 and participants six years old and younger will be free. This year’s Race for a Place will begin Saturday, April 17 at 9:00 am.
From April 23 to April 25, the Capital City Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon and 5K will also be a virtual event this year. Registration for the half marathon will be $90, or it will be $70 for the quarter marathon and $40 for the 5K. Swag includes light blue technical event shirts with the event Logo Design, matching finisher medals, race bibs, finisher’s certificates, online photos, and results.
Finally, on Memorial Day (May 30), from 8:30 am until 11:30 am at Whetstone High School, 4405 Scenic Drive, Columbus, Beechworld Community Resources Center will present its annual Ring Around the Roses 5K Walk/Run in-person and virtual event. Awards will be given in the in-person run in eight age categories and to the top three female and male finishers.
