Grandview Heights lights up for the holidays

Grandview Heights Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Gingerbread Decorating party and Santa’s traditional visit to the Grandview Heights Public Library will start the holiday season in early December.

The Tree Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, December 3 at Grandview Center, 1515 Goodale Boulevard will kick off the season. Guests can enjoy ice sculptures, and the iceless ice rink from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. At 5:00 pm, Mayor Greta Keams will welcome everyone and the High School Jazz Band and the High School Choir will give a free concert. Awards for the coloring contest will then be announced and the tree will be lit. Santa will also be making his first visit of the season.

On December 7, the Grandview Community Center will host a Gingerbread Decorating Party. Icing and gingerbread will be provided. All guests need to bring will be the holiday spirit and their imaginations.

On the same day, Santa will be coming to town on a firetruck and visiting the Grandview Heights Public Library. He will be available for photos and kids can tell him about the items on their Christmas lists.

Parents that take their little ones to see Santa often take pictures of them on the old Elf’s lap. These pictures often find their way to local Stationery printers to be made into Holiday Cards or notecards.
