Grandview Heights heads for the county fair

Everyone in Franklin County, including those of in Grandview Heights, will be heading to the Franklin County Fair in a few days.

The opening day entertainment will feature Ham Bone Express, 3 Pig Racing, Magician David Anthony, the Great Lakes Timber Show, the high wire aerial Pirates of Colombian Caribbean, Harness Racing, and a Monster Truck Thrill Show. The Main Stage will have live music nightly with artists such as country music star Drew Baldridge, North to Nashville, and the Bundys.

Other days will have auto cross and UTV/quad races, a truck pull, dirt drags, and a demolition derby.

The livestock barn will have a petting zoo with pigs, goats, and rabbits, and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital will have a safe designated area where kids can explore and play.

Each day will have specific farm animal shows, ranging from the open goat, beef and sheep, lamb and swine shows to the Junior Fair Poultry and live stock sale.

Families in regular attendance at this sort of show often wear brightly colored T-Shirts touting the family name and graphic design, not only to show unity but also to keep track of the little ones.

The Franklin County Fair will be held from July 13 to 20 at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, 4951 northwest Parkway, in Hilliard. Hours will be Friday and Saturdays 9:00 am until 11:00 pm, Sunday through Thursday 9:00 am until 10:00 pm.
