There will be no “bah, humbug” in Grandview Heights this month, as The Grandview Carriage Place Players presents ‘A Christmas Carol’, an original production by John Heisel.
Although Heisel can recreate the Charles Dickens classic as a one-man production lasting under three minutes, he has given some of the roles over to other members of the troupe to present a slightly longer presentation.
The Grandview Carriage Place Players is a group of actors and musicians from the area in and around Grandview who have taken their passion for the arts and turned it into rich theatrical productions. Their goal is to bring performing arts to Central Ohio. The idea came into fruition back in 2011 when Grandview Heights Parks and Recreation teamed with the Carriage Place Recreation Center and put Heisel as director of the project. He, along with Recreation Supervisor Marta Durban, has been recruiting local talent and putting on performances such as ‘Emma’ and ‘Chitty, Chitty Bang, Bang’ ever since.
Guests will want to remember to bring their cameras so they can get good pictures of their friends and family members in their period costumes for this year’s Holiday Cards.
Show dates are December 11 & 12 at 7:00 pm and December 13 at 2:00 pm. Local supporters will get to see their friends and neighbors perform at the Van Fleet Theater in the Columbus Performing Arts Center, 549 Franklin Ave., Columbus. Tickets will be $5 at the door.Get a Free Quote for Holiday Cards
