As our Calendars turn to the new year, New Year’s Eve revelers with families in Grandview Heights may want to really ring in the new year by attending the 2017 New Year’s Eve Celebration, called First Night Columbus.
The first level of the venue will have two movies – ‘Journey to the South Pacific’ and ‘Penguins’. There will also be an electrostatic generator show, a juggler/magician, and the Four Hayes Band. Radio City, a cover band based in Columbus, will be performing outside on the Finale Stage. Also there, will be three large heated trucks from Mr. Game Room, that will be crammed with the latest systems and video games.
On the Mezzanine Level, there will be airbrush tattoos available in the Group Lunchroom, food trucks, and inflatables. The planetarium will have such programs as Starry Night Live, The Alien Who Stole Christmas, Wildest Weather, and Let it Snow. Many brave souls will want to ride the high wire unicycle.
Level 2 will feature creation stations and a holiday lights live show, while the Little Kidspace will have animal shows and story times. The Main Stage will have DJ Jeffrey B, Joyful Inspiration Dance, and the Shazbots. Anthony Mossburg will perform and Alexis Gomez and Mad River will be the finale.
The fun will start on December 31 at 5:30 pm and go until midnight at the Center of Science and Industry, 333 W. Broad Street, Columbus.
