Jazz and barbeque will be the focus of the upcoming Jazz and Rib Fest coming to our area in a few weeks. For the 39th year, the fest will be three days of live jazz performed by local, regional, national, and international jazz artists, plus just about everything that can be barbequed. Over 200,000 people are expected to attend.
In total, 23 teams will be competing in the Best Ribs competition with their award-winning barbeque for bragging rights and trophies. A few of these will be Armadillo’s, Bad Wolf Barbecue, Chicago BBQ Company, and Cowboys.
For those guests not into barbeque, there will be plenty of other food and summer treats available for purchase.
Some jazz artists on the line up are Dave Koz and Friends, Euge Groove and Peter White, Dumpstaphunk, Ramsey Lewis, Arturo Sandoval, with Jane Monheit and the Juju Exchange.
Local businesses and organizations will have booths. Grandview Heights businesses will no doubt be passing out Business Cards, Promotional Products, samplings, and information about their goods and services. While the organizations will also be discussing their goods and services they will be including their mission statements.
The Hot Ribs and Cool Jazz Fest will be in Genoa and Bicentennial parks on Scioto Mile, 233 S. Civic Center Drive, Columbus on July 20 and 21 from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm, and Sunday, July 22, from 1:00 pm until 8:30 pm.
