The Grandview Heights area will be celebrating Earth Day this year in Columbus at Earth Day Celebration 2019.
At noon AEP Ohio along with the City of Columbus will present this year’s winners of the GreenSpot Light Awards. Three local businesses will receive recognition for their programs and initiatives.
A kids’ area will feature activities ranging from pot planting to face painting. Musical entertainment will be from Eric and Michael Frogman, and COSI will be on site with hands-on activities and science shows.
The park will enforce a zero-waste policy that day, so everyone needs to bring their own food containers and reusable water bottles.
Eight food trucks will be offering treats for purchase, including Paddy Wagon, Momma Can Cook, The Little Kitchen, Fetty Street Food, and Jeni’s. Cumberland Kettle Corn, Aloha Aina, and Cupzilla will also be there.
Local bands will be on stage all afternoon. These will include Ember of Arson, Honey & Blue, PronToh, Parker Louis, Orion and The Constellations, and Clemens & Co.
Smart Columbus will be showing the latest in mobility electrification with demonstrations and electric cars. Attendees will get an opportunity to ride e-scooters. Representatives at events such as this usually have Business Cards with them so guests can contact them at a later date.
Earth Day Celebration 2019 will take place rain or shine in Genoa Park in downtown Columbus on Saturday, April 20, from noon until 8:00 pm.
