Grandview Heights anglers head for fishing expo

The 2020 Columbus Fishing Expo has been scheduled for three days in early February.

The show will feature 155,000 square feet of custom and unique fishing gear, boats from designers such as Skeeter, Nitro, Tracker, and Ranger, and tackle offered by 195 exhibitors. Tackle and gear will be given away daily. Attendees usually gather Business Cards from those vendors they particularly like.

Fish Stadium holds about 2,000 fishing enthusiasts listening to over 100 speakers, including Forest Wood Cup champion Scott Martin, Brushpile Fishing TV Host Russ Bailey, LBAA pro anglers Lori Povisil and Beth Mills, pro anglers Larry Nixon and Brian Latimer, and 14-year-old Remington Barkley.

An ultimate kids’ zone will offer a trout pond and other interactive activities. Kayaking pros will be giving demonstrations and offering kayak fishing tips in their latest rigs at the kayak demo pool. Nearby will be the Fly Fishing Demo Pool. A flipping tournament will award a custom rod to the winner.

Fish will be on the menu as hungry attendees head for the Great American Fish Fry area.

The 2020 Columbus Fishing Expo will take place Friday, February 7 from noon until 8:00 pm, February 8 from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm, and February 9 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at the Bricker building at the Ohio Expo Center, 171 E. 17th Street, Columbus.
