Families flutter to conservatory for butterfly fun

This month, residents of Columbus and those in nearby Grandview Heights can learn more about a regular garden creature at the 'Family Fun Paper Butterflies' event.

During the event, families can make one of the winged insects from recycled magazines. Then, they can listen to the tale ‘Beauty Flies! Butterflies’.

The event is part of a Family Fun series at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens center. The events give families the chance to spend time together while learning more about nature.

The conservatory boasts art and nature-themed exhibits, while glassblowing demonstrations can be seen in the center’s ‘hot shop’. The conservatory also offers various educational classes for children and adults. Fundraisers, summer camps, and traveling exhibits are some of the other highlights.

To get the word out, organizers of events like this often use a poster printing service. Vivid Posters with a butterfly graphic could be displayed throughout the museum and in the surrounding areas.

General admission is $12 for adults, $9 for seniors and students with identification, and $6 for kids. Children aged two and under, along with conservatory members, are free. Parking is complimentary.

The event will take place on September 20 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is located at 1777 East Broad Street. For more information, call 614-715-8000.
