The 37th Annual Doo Dah Parade will now take place in mid-September, having been rescheduled. A highly satirical affair, this event is a celebration of lunacy and liberty.
Grandview Heights families are invited to dress in their craziest best and participate, or bring sunscreen, an umbrella, and lawn chairs to watch the parade, which will be free to both spectators and parade entrants.
In prior years, the parade has featured wacky costumes, political satire, and (for good or bad) celebrity tributes.
Less-Than–Grand Marshal for 2020 will be Grandma Joy and Brad Ryan, her grandson. Brad has been traveling around the U.S. with his 89-year-old grandmother, and the two have visited all 49 national parks in the lower 48 states in their four-year journey. They hope to see all 61 parks before they end their adventure.
Parade line up will begin at Goodale Park’s gazebo at noon. At around 1:00 pm, everyone is invited to ring out the National Anthem in 52-part harmony. The parade will begin right afterward.
At 11:00 am, the UnOfficially Official Doo Dah Parade After Party will begin in Goodale Park at the gazebo. Live music will be continuous until around 9:00 pm. Pictures taken at events such as these often go to local Print shops for local advertising purposes.
The antics will now take place on September 19 in the Short North Arts District, Columbus.
