Conservatory opens for Christmas Season

Many of us here in West Columbus will be kicking off the 2024 Holiday season by attending the opening of Conservatory Aglow coming at the end of November.

Along with the conservatory's traditional Whirly Tree, Paul Busse Garden Railway- a 9-G scale model train with 1122 feet of track, and life-size gingerbread house, new displays at the venue will feature a 90's themed party, igloos outside on the Ahlum and Arbor Arctic Terrace, and highly decorated lush biome spaces inside the conservatory. The outdoor spaces will also be decked out in Christmas lights.

The biomes will be lighted displays arranged in vignettes. On selected dates at 7:00 pm, live performances take place indoors. Some of these will include Magpie Consort, Trista Hill and Phil Maneri, the Gahanna Community Chorus, the EFlat Jazz Band and the Arch City Big Band.

Pairs of mirrored performers from The Amazing Giants will be roaming around outside as snowflake duos, stilt walkers, on Christmas tree sway poles, and as jugglers.

This time of year, may large corporations donate monetary Corporate Gifts to support outreach programs from organizations such as this.

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Opening Day will be Saturday, November 23rd from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at 1777 E. Broad Street, Columbus.
