Columbus Zoo and Aquarium presents annual Wildlights

Many Grandview Heights families will be heading to the Columbus Zoo’s Wildlights in a few weeks. For over 32 years, Wildlights has featured millions of LED lights displays and other holiday experiences.

The 42-foot Sparkling Spruce will be decked out in its LED splendor and two light and sound shows, “Holiday Cheer” and “Candela: The Evolution of Light” will alternate every half hour. Conservation Lake will light up with animated light shows every half hour in its “Holiday Rhythms Around the Waterhole.”

Kids can visit Santa and get their pictures taken with him in his Holiday Home. Rudolph and his buddies will also be available for photos in Asia Quest. Although professional photos will be available, many families opt to take their own pictures and send them to local Print shops to be made into Holiday Cards.

Kids can also enjoy Polar Bear Express Train, camel and carousel rides. Santa’s Reindeer Corral will have real reindeer on display. The Shores Play Park will be ablaze with a Jingle Bell Animated Light Display replete with holiday music, and the 4D Theater will show Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.

Wildlights opens on November 20 at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and will continue until January 3, 2021. Hours will be 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday through Thursday, and until 10:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Regular zoo admission prices will apply. All tickets will have timed admission and must be reserved.
