Columbus Turkey Trot gets name add-on

Since every race in the Thanksgiving Columbus Turkey Trot this year will be a virtual event, this year’s even has been renamed The 2020 Virtual Chase Columbus Turkey Trot.

The distances can be done anywhere, whether on treadmills, courses mapped out by the individual runners, or on an especially designed Turkey Trot route.

The Virtual 5 Miler and the Virtual 2.4 Miler registration fees are $35. The Virtual Tot Trot for kids under the age of 14 will cost $5.

Swag will still include the custom race shirt, but the Logo Design will reflect the new online event theme. Grandview Heights participants will also receive bibs, goody Bags and custom medals. Swag will be sent out as soon as participants register. Everyone is encouraged to upload their pictures at the event’s web page, and their times on Columbus Half Marathon website.

Although no pies will be handed out this year as has been the case in former years, the event organizers want participants to know how much they appreciate their involvement and that all proceeds will still go to Easterseals. Since all Easterseal fundraisers have been cancelled for this year, funds generated here will be greatly appreciated.

The Trot will go online November 21 and will remain open until Thanksgiving Day, November 26.
