Plenty of people here in West Columbus are sure to be heading over to the annual Ohio Black Expo: Riverfront Culture Fest over Memorial Day weekend.
Sensational Saturday will offer over 20 food trucks, and more than 100 Black-owned vendors, artisan drinks, and craft beverages all day at the Riverfront. Attendees at events such as this often collect vendors' Business Cards to continue supporting them after the festivities.
Saturday afternoon festivities will begin with a parade, followed by line dancing, a HBCU college fair and connect zone, state and local talent, and a Divine Nine zone. Roott will have Family Day activities, COSI will be handing out free items, and the DJs will be Krate Digga and Bern.
The evening show will have FAARROW, Issa Ali, J Rawls, Brother J of X Clan, Mix Master Ice of UTFO, and the Hall of Fame Award. DJ IQ from City Newwaa will emcee the night show featuring Amerie, AJ McQueen, and Brand Nubian.
For Sunday, the food trucks, vendors, and beverages will be back, and the afternoon will have DJs SKNO and RA introducing statewide and local talent, Thiossane West African Dance, and Urban Strings Columbus. The venue will also have an Afrobeats Zone. The day’s finale will feature Dwele and Esperanza Spalding.
Held at Genoa Park beside the Scioto River, Super Saturday will take place from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm on May 25, and Soulful Sunday will run from noon to 8:00 pm on May 26.
