City holds eclectic events over summer

From swimming, to camping, to cardboard boat racing, Grandview Heights will have it all during the summer.

The Grandview Heights Municipal Pool will have its annual Christmas in July Pool Party, slated for July 24 from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm at 1350 Goodale Bld.. Swimmers with pool passes can enjoy activities and games during the rest periods starting at 5:00 pm. At sunset, the movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” will be screened.

After that, Wyman Woods, 1520 Goodale Blvd, will have a campout. Everyone is invited to bring sleeping Bags and tents and listen to songs and camp stories told by librarians, while enjoying a campfire and snacks. The film “Abominable” will be shown at sunset. The event will be free but preregistration is required. Night Under the Stars will take place July 31 at 7:00 pm, running until August 1 at 9:00 pm.

Teams are registering for the Grandview Heights Municipal Pool’s annual Cardboard Boat Race coming in early August. They will be given two hours to construct cardboard boats that can carry one person across the pool. During the break, everyone will stop and have a pizza break. The event will be August 2 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with the race starting at 6:30 pm.

Cities that hold events such as this often have photographers take pictures that will go to the local Print shops to be included in the town’s visitor guide brochure printing.
