Chocolate fever hits Ohio

The Hot Chocolate Expo and 15k/5k is about to warm up Columbus, just a few miles away from Grandview Heights.

The scenic, certified courses will take runners near some of the major attractions in the city.

After the race, there will be a party with chocolate fondue and hot chocolate. There will also be a kids’ zone with inflatables and games. Participants can enjoy live music and take pictures.

An awards’ ceremony will recognize the top three male and female finishers overall, and in each age group.

With over 15,000 people expected to participate and attend, it’s likely a flyer printing service was used to promote the event.

Until October 25, registration costs $49 for the 5K and $69 for the 15K. After that, registration goes up $5. Registration includes chip-timing, a finisher’s medal, a mug, and a goodie bag.

Packet pickup will take place during the Hot Chocolate Expo on November 13 from noon until 6:00 pm and November 14 from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm. Admission is free and there will be plenty of vendors. The expo will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Exhibit Hall C, located on 400 North High Street. Packets will not be available for pickup on race day.

The first wave of the race will kick off on November 15 at 7:30 am at the Arena District in Downtown Columbus.
