Busy Memorial Day Week planned in Grandview Heights

No fewer than five Grandview Heights events have been put together for Memorial Day Week this year.

Grandview Heights Public Library will be holding its Fourth Annual Chocolate Walk. Participating businesses will be distributing sweet treats along the route, and the GHPL Foundation’s Endowment Fund will be the recipient of the proceeds from this event.

The Blue Star Mothers Memorial Day Service will be at Memorial Park. The service will honor those from Marble Cliff and Grandview who died in battle.

A couple of days later, floats, marching bands, service organizations, and Marble Cliff and Grandview veterans will assemble on First Avenue between Osley Road and Cambridge Blvd to march in the Grandview Heights Memorial Day Parade. Afterwards, the new municipal pool will open for the season.

All Grandview Heights chocolate lovers will want to mark their Calendars for Thursday, May 25. The stroll will begin at the Grandview Heights Public Library, 1685 W. First Avenue in Columbus around 5:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm. Many walkers may opt to start their strolls at 5:00 pm so they can attend the Grandview Heights Blue Star Mothers Memorial Day Service at 7:30 pm.

Opening ceremonies and the open house for the new pool will be May 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at 1350 Goodale Blvd, Columbus.

The parade will be Saturday, May 27 at 10:00 am. The pool will open at 3:00 pm.
