Art comes alive at festival

Art aficionados in and around Grandview Heights are in luck next month.

The 2015 Columbus Arts Festival is a free, outdoor event where artists will display their work. There will also be live entertainment and film screenings. Attendees can take part in artistic crafts or taste food from local restaurants. Flyer printing is often utilized to spread the word about events like this.

On the main stage, guests can listen to performing artists of many different genres. They can also check out the Jazz and Blues Club, the Acoustic Lounge, and the dance stage. The theater stage will host dramas, classic plays, and other live entertainment. Throughout the festival, poets, authors, and storytellers will take to the ‘Word is Art Stage’ for short performances.

Kids may enjoy the arts and crafts center, where they can make a kite or sculpt glass beads. There is also a children’s art gallery to visit.

On June 13 at 8:30 am, runners can take part in the Columbus Arts Festival 5K that begins and ends in front of the Center of Science and Industry on Belle Street. The flat course goes through downtown. Registration costs $35 or $40 on race day.

The festival will be held at the Scioto Mile, a Riverfront Park in Columbus. It all takes place on June 12 and 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m, and June 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
