Soupfest 2022 is being planned for the end of April. This will be the fifth year for the charity event.
Grandview Heights guests at Soupfest can expect to get to sample from around 45 homemade soups. Live entertainment will include Alex Cameron, Wasp Factory, OVNR, NNAMDI, Advance Base, Tom Evanschuck, and BOATS.
Tickets are $50 each and include black soup Mugs (stamped with the event’s white ladles and skull graphic design), stickers, soup samples from local contestants, some other samples from local restaurants, and live music. Guests may opt out of using the Mugs and use available biodegradable spoons and single serve-cups.
Amateur soup chefs are invited to put their entries forward in the soup contest. Categories will include Vegetarian, THOUP (thick soup), and Unique. Hot and ready-to-eat soups are to arrive ahead of the event opening time in full-sized crockpots accompanied with serving ladles, garnishes, and dietary information. Event guests will vote for their favorite entry. There will be an awards ceremony at the end of the afternoon. Soup Maker tickets are $50, and the number of entries is capped at 45.
All proceeds will go to the Miklos Battaglia Fund, which addresses Central Ohio food scarcity and social inequity.
Soupfest 2022 will take place at the Valley Dale Ballroom, 1500 Sunbury Road, Columbus starting at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 30.
