The Great Amazing Race Company will be here in September.
Teams of two compete with other teams of similar ages on a 1.5-mile cross country course. The course will be dotted with mental and physical challenge stations. Each station will have clue cards directing the teams to do something. Some tasks can be done by one member while others will require both partners. Once the task is completed the couple goes to the next station. Racers can expect to get a little wet and dirty.
The event will have two courses. One course will be more challenging for active teams and adults, while the other is less stringent and designed for a more leisurely run. This last course will be easier for kids. Participants can choose to run, jog or just walk between stations. It will take about an hour to complete either course. Medals will to winners in specified age groups.
Proceeds will go to support 30 Minute-a-Day Academic Initiatives and Pediatric Cancer.
Grandview Heights teams can either register for the event plus two T-Shirts sporting the Great Amazing Race Logo Design, or they can opt for the entry fee and two finisher medals. Each registration is $69.
The Great Amazing Race Columbus will take place from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm Sunday, September 20 at Whetstone Park, 3923 High Street, Columbus.
