Fans going to see the Cincinnati Reds play can now ride to and from the game for free, via the Cincinnati Bell Connector. All they need is a ticket for the game.
The free offer applies only on the game day, when the ticket will take the place of the regular fare for the streetcar. All the passenger needs to do is show their ticket, either digital or printed, to the fare inspector when asked to do so. In situations like this, officials can use poster printing to create placards explaining the rules for free rides.
The free rides are being made possible thanks to Woods Hardware, which is located near the route of the streetcar; Woods made a donation to support the effort. Matt Woods owns Woods Hardware, and said his company was excited to join with the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bell Connector to provide the free game-day rides. It is his way to say thank you for the success his company has had at the downtown location.
The Cincinnati Bell Connector is a streetcar that connects Cincinnati’s downtown with the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, and the riverfront. It runs until midnight from Monday through Thursday, until 1:00 am on Friday and Saturday, and until 11.00 pm Sundays.
The goal of offering free rides is to allow Reds fans an easy way to get to and from the various attractions, including restaurants, along the Connector’s route, which is over three miles long.
