Brother-led band comes to Cincinnati

A band led by two brothers is set to appear soon in Cincinnati.

Jackrabbit is headlined by brothers Dermot and Kieran Mulroney, both of whom are musicians and actors. The duo perform and cowrite together, blending harmonies, twangy guitars, and emotionally rich stories into the style they call “Cali-Country.” They draw inspiration from the soft-rock sound of LA, as well as the Eagles, and the Bakersfield sound, a genre that uses backbeats and electric instrumentation. The style was a reaction against the slick, orchestra-heavy music developed in Nashville.

Dermot Mulroney ‘s film appearances include “Point of No Return” in 1993, and 1997’s “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” which is his most successful role. His extensive television credits including a leading role in the 2014 series “Crisis,” and a recurring role on Showtime’s series “Shameless.” Despite his considerable work as an actor, Dermot Mulroney’s first passion was for music, and he has been playing cello since he was seven.

Kieran Mulroney has also appeared in such television shows as “Star Trek: Enterprise” and “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” and is co-writer of the hit film “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows,” which starred Robert Downey, Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Watson.

The brothers have managed to balance acting, screenwriting, and concert performances. Jackrabbit comprises the Mulroneys, along with Henry Quirion, Matt McFadden, and Sebastian Sheehan. They will be at the Ludlow Garage on June 7. Publicity to benefit events like this can be created by organizers using poster printing.
