Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, who goes by his stage name of Kid Cudi, was born in Cleveland but relocated to New York City to pursue a career in music. He self-published his first song, “Day ‘n’ Nite,” on MySpace, and watched it become an online hit. The buzz brought Cudi together with record producers Emile Haynie and Plain Pat, who helped him record “A Kid Named Cudi,” his first full-length mixtape. That effort got noticed by Kanye West, who signed Cudi to his label.
“Man on the Moon” was Cudi’s first studio album, and it succeeded with both critics and audiences and was certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA. By August 2025, Cudi had released ten studio albums and all but one charted. A concert review says:
“ . . . it felt as though everyone in that concert hall was truly enjoying his music and living in the moment of the experience.”
He has also enjoyed a successful acting career. His first role was in the HBO series “How to Make It in America,” and he made his feature film debut in “Need for Speed” in 2014.
Kid Cudi will be at the Riverbend Music Center on May 16. Posters are a traditional medium for advertising events like this, and they remain effective. Organizers can find them at local Print shops.
