A comedian, writer, actress, and member of the famous Los Angeles comedy troupe The Groundlings will be making a stop in Cincinnati.
Emily Fortune Feimster, who goes by Fortune Feimster, has extensive television experience, starting in 2010 when she appeared on “Last Comic Standing.” She played Colette for two years on “The Mindy Project,” and co-hosts a radio show, “What a Joke with Papa and Fortune,” with Tom Papa. The duo frequently interviews celebrities and comedians, and their show is the first live show to be carried on “Netflix is a Joke,” a Sirius XM channel.
Feimster was born in Charlotte, North Carolina and grew up in Belmont, North Carolina, where she went to elementary, junior high, and high school. She went on to attend Peace College where she majored in communications, played tennis and soccer, and was elected president of the student body. She spent a year in Spain, and then moved to Los Angeles, where she reconnected with actress Emily Procgtor, who had spoken at Feimster’s college commencement. Feimster became Proctor’s personal assistant and also began her career in comedy.
She joined famous Los Angeles organization, The Groundlings Theatre in 2005, where she studied sketch comedy and improv. In 2009, she was chosen to join the Groundlings’ Sunday Company, an advancement which is voted on by members.
Fortune Feimster will be at the Taft Theatre on January 16. Audiences enjoy learning about performers’ lives, information concert organizers can provide by using brochure printing to create programs.
