The Banks is a mixed-use development along the Ohio River, located between the Great American Ball Park where the Cincinnati Reds play, and the Paul Brown Stadium, the Bengals' home field. The project is entering its next phase, but plans are unclear about precisely what that will entail.
According to a May 28, 2015 news item, officials plan to spend about $29.3m on a parking garage, and also to support further development. However, no one is sure what will be built atop the garage, whether there will be retail space, or perhaps the first condominiums in the 18-acre development.
The garage will have 690 spaces on two levels. Constructing it and finishing improvements to utilities could lead to another 400,000 square feet to be developed on what is known as “Lot 24.” Original plans for the lot called for apartments or for-sale housing, but now studies are underway to determine the best use of the site. Condos at the project have not generated much enthusiasm until now, but changes in the market have brought renewed interest in this type of housing.
Apartments developed as part of the first phase have a waiting list, and there are inquiries coming in as to apartments that will be part of Phase II. Construction crews are cognizant of their neighbors, and are delaying building starts until after the All-Star Game on July 14.
Developers could work with brochure printers to create Booklets describing the project in detail, and make them available to area realtors, both commercial and residential.Get a Free Quote for Booklets
