Kings Island is getting another wooden roller coaster next year, according to Cincinnati.com.
When Mystic Timbers opens, it will be the 16th coaster at the park, and the fourth to be made of wood. The new ride will also give Kings Island the distinction of having the most footage of wooden coasters on earth, when considered collectively. Mystic Timbers will add 3,000 feet to the total, bringing it to 18,804 feet. The coaster will be able to reach a speed of 53 miles per hour.
Kings Island has been hinting about its new attraction for months, and now details are emerging. The theme of the ride is the reclamation of land by nature, and the setting is an area around a lumber company, where vines are growing over everything. The total length of the ride is 3,265 feet, and at its highest, the coaster will reach 109 feet. It will be able to accommodate 1,200 riders per hour in three trains that can carry 24 people each.
According to the park, the track weaves down ravines, over water, along sheer cliffs, and then makes an “extreme S-turn, among a forest of trees.” The ride also interacts with two other attractions, the White Water Canyon, and the Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad.
Mystic Timbers is due to open April, 2017. Companies like these can work with printing companies to create Banners to celebrate various openings.Get a Free Quote for Banners
