Delta Flats, a new apartment development located at Delta Avenue and Columbia Parkway, is now under construction.
The building is being developed by Towne Properties and should have a model unit ready for examination later this month, with units ready to be leased in June. Amenities in the outdoor space include a grilling area, a patio, and a saltwater pool, and are slated to be finished in July.
Towne Properties’ president, Adam Bortz, said demand for the Delta Flats units is far greater than expected, and there are 200 names on the reservation list with only 76 units available. Bortz suggested that the reason for the demand is that the units are unique, being aimed at graduate students or young professionals, so they are priced accordingly and are within walking distance of many small retailers and popular restaurants.
The units, which range from 716 to 850 square feet, have nine-foot ceilings, private terraces, walk-in closets, and upscale finishes. They all have just the one bedroom, although some are configured with a den as well. Public areas include a fitness center, outdoor terrace, a completely furnished clubroom with a serving bar and kitchen, and well-lit, ample parking.
Towne Properties might consider working with brochure printers to create a mailer for realtors and university housing offices, describing the units in detail.
