Alicia Keys is a singer and songwriter who is also a classical pianist. By the time she was 12, she was already composing original songs, and was signed by Columbia Records when she was 15. She enjoyed success almost immediately, as her debut album, “Songs in A Minor,” which she released in 2001, sold more than 12 million Copies throughout the world. The single “Fallin’” from the album landed in the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song and the album together won five Grammys.
She dropped “The Diary of Alicia Keys,” her second studio album, in 2003, and scored another success. The singles “Diary,” “If I Ain’t Got You,” and “You Don’t Know My Name” were tracks on this album, which had global sales of eight million copies. The album netted another four Grammys for the artist.
