Graham Nash is a singer/songwriter who wrote for the English group the Hollies, then went on to stardom as a member the supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash, later joined by Neil Young to become Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Nash was on tour as a member of the Hollies when he first met Stephen Stills and David Crosby.
He met Crosby again a short time later, and decided to leave the Hollies to form Crosby, Stills & Nash. Before and after Young’s arrival, the group produced such songs as “Marrakesh Express,” “Teach Your Children,” and “Our House,” the first two of which were rejected by the Hollies.
In 1997, as one of the Crosby, Stills & Nash trio, he was inaugurated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was inducted a second time in 2010, this time for his work with the Hollies.
In 2010, Nash’s name was on the Birthday Honours List, appointing him an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), for his services to charity and to music.
