Jazz artist brings tour to Cincinnati

An award-winning jazz musician will be appearing in Cincinnati soon.

Composer and saxophonist Boney James is on tour in support of his new album, “Slow Burn,” which he released in October 2024 on Concord Records. James says that when he discussed the phrase “slow burn” as a possible title with others, they agreed it was the perfect description of his entire career.

“Slow Burn,” his 19th record, is receiving critical acclaim in career that has now been ongoing for over 30 years, and includes four Grammy nominations, three nominations for the NAACP Image Award, and a Soul Train Award in the “Best Jazz Album” category. In addition, four of his records have been certified Gold by the RIAA.

In 2009, James was named one of the Top 3 Contemporary Jazz Artists of the Decade by Billboard, and in 2024, James achieved another milestone, becoming the first artist ever to place 20 singles at the number one spot on the Billboard Smooth Jazz Chart. A review of James in concert says:

“. . . jazz sensation Boney James brought the heat to Steelhouse with his Slow Burn Tour and a performance that was worth every penny.”

Boney James will be at the Ludlow Garage on Saturday, June 14. Organizers of this type of performance often use brochure printing to create programs for the audience, who enjoy learning about the performers.
