Two films are slated to shoot in Cincinnati this month.
A Bruce Willis action movie has just begun filming, and a Christmas movie directed by and starring Mariah Carey will begin shooting soon.
On Saturday, October 26, the Willis film got underway. Film crews shot scenes on Fourth Street for ‘Marauders’, the tale of an FBI agent who uncovers the secrets kept by Willis's character, a bank owner, as the agent chases bank robbers.
Fans who hoped to see Willis on the day were disappointed though, as he was not on set. The crew shot a scene of a masked man extricating someone from a car in drenching, but simulated, rain. Fourth Street will be used as a location again, and the crews will be filming throughout the city during the month of October.
The Mariah Carey film is titled ‘Melody & Mistletoe’, and will start shooting some time in October. Carey directs and stars in the film, which will air on the Hallmark Channel in December, as a music teacher who helps a student compose a Christmas song.
The Greater Cincinnati Film Commission is helping the production by scouting locations, finding local resources and crews, and identifying all things ‘Cincinnati’ to assist the filming.
City officials might work with a flyer printing company on a mailer for residents, letting them know when streets will be shut down, and suggesting detours for drivers to use.
