First Cincinnati-area store for major retailer

L.L. Bean is set to open a store at the Kenwood Collection in Kenwood.

Earlier in the year, the retailer announced plans to open stores in Columbus, at the Easton Town Center, and at Legacy Village, close to Cleveland. The Kenwood location will be the first L.L. Bean store in the Cincinnati area.

The store is planning to sell a variety of casual and active Apparel, footwear, and equipment that supports an active lifestyle, including supplies for fly-fishing, hiking, and kayaking. L.L. Bean also sells camping products and winter clothing.

The Kenwood Collection project wants to become a premier destination for shoppers in the region, and having L.L. Bean move in will help in that effort. Other notable tenants at the center include Crate & Barrel, The Container Store, and Mitchell's Salon and Day Store. Another high-end retailer, Mitchell Gold + Bob Wood, has announced it too will be moving into Kenwood Collection.

David Birdsall, of PECO Real Estate Partners, said The Container Store and Crate & Barrel are what are called “destination retailers”, meaning shoppers will make a special trip just to go to that store. It is hoped that L.L. Bean will be the type of retailer that will enhance Kenwood Collection.

After it moves in, L.L. Bean managers will probably want to work with Stationery printers to create letterhead for the new location.
