A special dance event is on the schedule, thanks to a local company.
Revolution Dance Theatre (RDT) is presenting “shOUT!,” a feature-length concert that is the company's 2020 World Premiere event. The show, which is based on true experiences, follows the characters on a journey to reconcile their faith and their sexual identity.
The music has been carefully chosen to align closely with the compelling script, and performers use several disciplines in the hope that audiences will cry, laugh, ask questions, and recall that everyone wants very much the same things—a home, and love.
The RDT is the brainchild of David Choate, its Founding Artistic Director, who has trained at the School of Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, and at Planet Dance, the DeLa Arts Center, and the Cincinnati Ballet Academy. In the course of his studies, Choate realized there are few people of color in dance, particularly ballet. He has made it his mission to increase diversity in the field of dance, and extend equal opportunity to minority students who dream of pursuing a career in the performing arts.
The performance is scheduled for June 19, at 8:00 pm, in the Jarson-Kaplan Theater at the Aronoff Center for the Arts on Walnut. A second performance will take place June 20, at the same time. Brochure printing can be used to provide programs for performances like this.
